I had so much fun with this swap! I hope I can join again! Heading to the "fabric town" in Tokyo this weekend to
get more fun stuff for packages! This is truly the land of notions-hundreds of little tools and accessories!

Marybeth-those smarties were meant to come to my address....:p

LOL, you know I think they were!
I hate to tell you but I already ate them! with the brandy shot! I am surprized that I am still typing, with 3 fingers that work and a shot (or two) of brandy. But since I can't sew yet, what else can i do~:p

Here is a photo of the lovely package I received from Carolinepaj. I love it all. Great button fabric and a container of lovely red buttons, toastie socks, a room scented sachet, thread, embroidery thread, nail file, christmas papers, a thimble (which I collect) and a fab magazine for making bags which I adore. Thank you so so much Caroline.

OFF TOPIC notice!!

I just wanted to let you all know that this week has been busy
for me as I have been working at my part time job
(which is USUALLY only Friday's).

Talked to the temp agency on Tuesday that I work with when they
can find me something and was asked if I would be interested
in having my resume sent in to the State of CO for a part time
job of course I said YES to that.

Yesterday I got a call from the temp agency about my resume.

I have an interview at 9am today, but before I can get hired
will have to go through an EXTENSIVE background check with
both state investigators and FBI, finger prints and all.

Reason for this kind of background investigation? I will be
working in the lottery department handling money. Which
means that more than likely I am going to become bonded.

I am crossing my fingers!

Hey Deborah, my husband lived in Japan for 7 years and he was also a Gaijiin. When we married, he was more oriental than American (happy coats, sitting on the floor). We still have lots of oriental decorations in our home and my stash is more oriental than anything else. I could never get the taste of Sake. Enjoy Tokyo - it's a beautiful city. Had a Korean friend and she gave me the cutest pair of scissors with the fancy knot strings. They're not the easiest to use, but they are sharp. If I'm your SP next month, you can send me anything from Japan you want!

Louise, good luck with your job. We lived in Colorado Springs for 18 years before retiring and moving here to Tennessee. Have followed your threads and all regarding the fire. We didn't live in the area that was evacuated, but had at one time tried to buy some land in a subdivision in that area. Had that gone through, we would have been evacuated. Scarry thinking about all the damages done so quickly - and the helplessness you feel. Well, enough, good luck with the interviews - and if you can get your hands on the winning numbers before they're drawn - let us all know in advance!!!!!!!!!!!
