Sign up time for the Quilting Board's doll quilt swap!

Quilt Swap #18 -- November/December 2010
NOTE: There's a twist this time. You'll be making a quilt for a SECRET partner. So you'll have to send me your address and I'll send you your partner's address. You won't be paired as we usually do. I'm hoping everyone will post progress pictures so we can keep the excitement going for two months.

Here are some links to past swaps. This swap is for all levels of quilters and an opportunity to get some hands-on practice while seeing and learning techniques from those more experienced. It's a great mix and we have a blast.

DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES

SIZE: from 12"x12" to 24"x24" or any size or shape in between.

MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen.

EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free. Beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace; anything or nothing at all.

CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliqued, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound.

LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. A label is a nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that the recipient can thank you). And I probably don't have to say this, but when you receive something, please thank the sender.

PARTNERS: Keep your partner's identity a secret. We want them to be surprised when they receive your quilt.

DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is December 31, 2010.

COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings.

SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends October 31, 2010. I'll send you your partner's information after that date.

If you would like to sign up, please PM me with your address.

Here's the charity project that oksewglad suggested for the November/December Doll Quilt swap: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-71017-1.htm

It's entirely optional of course, but it might be fun to share some of this talent.
