just re-read Sherry's post
We will sew Sherrys' rows together. Personally, I prefer my rows to be separate. That way, it will give me more creative latitude! What would everyone else like?

Hello Jane!
Yvonne here, from Ohio. Glad we're all in the same group! I can understand what Sherry is saying. Also, probably would be a lot less soilage (is this a word??? It is now!) doing it that way since we would only be opening one piece to check out others blocks, colors, positioning, etc. when doing ours instead of 2, 3 or 4 individual pieces....a lot less edge fraying as well since there would be fewer edges as we the quilt grows. I'll do whatever everyone else chooses. Just a thought in re to our "name". Was looking at the name "Round Row Robins" and in my mind's eye I saw a bunch of robins flying round and round and round and the name "Dizzy Birds" popped into my brain so I'll just throw that out there. |

Your colors and theme are great. Yes, layer cakes and jelly rolls are fine and you DO NOT need to pre-wash them. They would be ruined. I'm anxious to hear the other themes. So far, we have: Yvonne - 'The City' theme black/white/grey/taupe Sherry - florals theme blue/cream/cranberry Barbara - ??? theme - nearly finished first row MaryLane - still dithering LOL! Jane - 30's reproduction theme on white TOT background What fun!!! Jane |

Hi Jane, welcome. When I said I made a row that did not have blocks, it had 3 sections. The important aspect is to make a row that is 12 1/2" x 60". Below is a picture of what I did. I have not decided which row I will do for which group. This one may be my butterflies made from hankies.

Might I suggest that we just baste the rows together. Then they can be changed if need be.
Sherry, I understand about asthma. I am home from work today because my allergies went nutso yesterday and triggered an asthma attack. Still trying to recover from that. Have that dull headache. I am assuming we all have allergies and no indoor pets since those were among the questions. I will come up with a theme soon. Just can't think today. Look forward to see everyone's. Jane, I have plenty of the fabrics you want. Mary |
I hope the pictures make more sense.

Welcome, Mary. Everyone has checked in. This is great!
I do not have any reproduction fabric. I am not sure what that is. If anyone has any extra to send along, if you want, that would be great. I asked QBee if she was going to pm the leaders of the groups with names, addresses and emails, etc. She will but she has not had time to do that yet. I will get those to everyone when I get them. What does this mean, "leaders and enders"? I think everyone can send a note along with their row and say whether they want the rows attached or not. Write what your theme is and any information you want to add. I would rather not sew a row together than to baste it. Let your fellow "groupies" decide what to add. Let the rows talk to you, but try to keep in mind what the original owners might want. I will throw out a name I thought of , "The ten pens". Put in your suggestions and we can vote on which one we like. Here is a picture of my finished row. |
Hello to Barbara in Mississippi ! Read where you had nearly finished your first row. WOW! What theme did you decide on and what colors? Our group is so cool....we come from the west, midwest and south. Will enjoy chatting with everyone.

Hello to MaryLane!. Is that a first name and last or all one first name? And it's quite alright to "dither". There are just so many choices, aren't there? And, really, any theme would be great. After all, it's not a competition. So pick a subject you love and go for it. It's not like we can't do another Round Robin at another time.

Sherry, would it be too much to ask for you to send out the names and addresses via PM since all this goes out into the public domain?
