I know whom ever got mine didn't get much info. So, I'll start the answer session. I've been quilting since @ 2003. I'm retired & now have my own studio where I sew & quilt on my longarm. I've not been longarming long, so don't have a lot of stencils yet. I don't have a computer on the longarm, nor have I used a pantograph, everything I do is freehand. I don't have one particular color way that I use, I pretty much like them all. I like the traditional blocks, but I like to be creative in the way I present them in a quilt, or in a different color combination that makes it unique. I love dolphins, hence the name of my business is Dolphin Quilting. I live in Texas & enjoy incorporating that into my quilts from time to time. I love the tropics, so I love working with batiks or doing tropical patterns. I used to sail sailboats all the time & still have those around the house. I have 2 poodles that I call my shadows, as they follow me everywhere!

I think this will give some of the rest of you ideas to post for your Secret Santa to go by.

Okay, I'll start this. By way of filling out my sheet - I thought I put stuff on it. I am vanogay (for my Secret Santa) and I love Asian fabrics. But, I buy so many of them that I really don't have alot of fabric to GO WITH THEM. That probably means I need solids or fabrics that read as solids. Colors aren't a problem - I'm not a blue person so don't have lots of that. Most any colors can be matched with some of the Asian fabrics I have. I do Quilts of Valor, so can use RW&Bs - shades and or tones. I like chocolate (not peanut butter, though), hard candies, but I'm trying to lose weight, so that's not always good. What I NEED more than anything is Time - time to do some of the projects I have planned. Please send lots of time in my box. Does this help?

Reading everyone's lists I realize that I didn' include much. I'm a retired RN. Love to make small quilts but mostly purses. I try to sell some but hardly make any money from them.
I love to buy fabric but don't tend to buy plain/blenders. I LOVE BRIGHT colors.I have more patterns and rulers than I'll ever be able to use.
I LOVE thrift shopping so recycled gifts are great.
I'm a Lifetime Weight Watcher after losing 102 pounds, so no sweets please ( although DH would take care of them)
I just got into machine embroidery and don't have many colors of thread yet.
My machines are a Featherweight, which I've had since 1968, a Brother NX400 and a BabyLock Ellure.
Maybe that will be helpful.

I am so glad you guys are adding a little about yourselves. This really helps.

Me....I have 2 dogs, a Great Dane, Heidi, and a Rottie mix, Gus who has 2 bionic knees. They are pretty much my life. I have a very large sewing studio in my basement with 5 Husqvarna Viking sewing machines ranging from the Diamond down to my DGDsrather plain machine. I also have 2 sergers, and a long arm machine. I do quite a bit of machine embroidery, but have TONS of rayon thread, and am in the process of collecting YLI thread for the long arm. I do mostly charity quilting and love charm squares, jelly rolls, and layer cakes. I like mostly all colors. Not too crazy about the oriental stuff, or the ultra modern fabrics. I love batiks. I can't eat chocolate, or drink coffee. I do drink herbal teas, if they're decaf. I have been teased that I have every sewing notion known to man. So I don't need much of anything there. I have almost every ruler around. I also seem to collect free patterns too. I have quite a large collection of decorative sewing doodads, teapots, statues, etc. that I am going to start gifting to people that I think would appreciate them. I just don't have room anymore. Hope this helps. Oh! I love quilting fabric!!!

Waiting patiently..............Teri don't worry, we have plenty of time to get our boxes together. It is just the anticipation, just like waiting for reveal day. Take care of those babies.

Haven't had a chance to get to the quilt shops here on my visit yet. Another state later in the week so I know I will make it to some there with my Mom and Sister. I know I will have a name by then.

Got my name and I'm in the same boat as some of you. Hope she will post more about herself on here. Went snooping in profile and posts, nada there too. Sending out a plea, please post dear quilty friend, favorite colors or anything you like, I need help. Got me thinking if I did or not, went and checked, yup, must have been in a gab fest with myself the day I sent info in. Don't think my Santa will have any problems.
Question: since this is my first time doing this....Is there a date we all open these? Just wondering makes a difference what you'd send wouldn't it? Would hate to put in a big loaf of pumpkin bread etc. and you'd be opening molded yuk. Or do you wrap everything separate and then on some say open now like the pumpkin bread. Hope you know what I'm trying to ask..

why not just continue using this thread? Everyone can post something that's on their wish list. Maybe tell a little about themselves? Drop hints?

Why not just go update your Profiles?

Jaba. Rules are on Page 1. Mail deadline is Nov 14th.

jaba 10-02-2012 06:34 AM

purplepassion, I read those and totally understand, am just wondering if there is a date that we do open. I don't want something sitting in a box that is going to spoil, never mind I guess I just answered my own question dah??? don't send that. Gees must be dense at my house this morning sorry.

PurplePassion 10-02-2012 06:40 AM

Terri announces the open date later. It is around the middle of December. Mornings aren't for me either. And with our postal system , I wouldn't send anything through the mail , that might spoil.
