A perfect way to use your orange fabric, Bertie......love the sailboats and all the other colors with it.

TY all for the compliments on the "Smooth Sailing" quilt. I never realized until I was about halfway thru that none of my blocks were made the same, haha. But I love it anyway!

Krystyna, your apron is even the same color gingham as the one I made my Mother. Hmmm? Wonder where I put that? My mother passed away in 2006 but it's because of her that I sew and make quilts. The first small quilt I made was "America". Bottom row -- music notes to first line of America. One row of 'spacious skies' above a 'row of amber grain' and then a row of "purple mountain majesties" above a row of 'fruited plain' (little print of different fruits) surrounded by 'from sea to shining sea!' border and an American Flag waving proudly over quilt from L.H. side.

See what I mean? My mother and my sister said I'm nuts! It sold at Quilt Show silent auction for $17 and I had the last laugh, haha. Someone else must be nutty, too.

I am sitting here grinning from ear to ear reading all your little blurbs ladies. I first got caught on the word :JUSTIFIED. My mind was going omg! no one told me! how did I miss that one??? I think fabric is like.. buying chocolate or something else decadent (diamonds for you non choc. eaters).. its an internal need... a gift.. something to sooth your soul and if its grand enough to make you get all warm and fuzzy inside when you hold it just for that moment... ok yeah it ends up in a bin or on a shelf but the deal is.. it was sooooo good when you got it right? no justification needed. I don't hide my fabric. Granted I have a small amount relative to some of you (you know who you are) but my husband knows how much it means to me.. every so often he throws 40 on the table (this is big for us) and says go get yourself some fabric or order yourself some fabric and he smiles.. cause he knows I will smile even bigger. I buy 20.00 most of the time as a BIG splurge and boy do I like it. clothes? pah who needs those. you buy undies once a year a new pack or some socks.. your golden. but fabric? oh yeah. my kids don't buy me presents they send me certificates for fabric online :) now that is love.

Linda, I remember you sent me some GORGEOUS silkly fabric embroidered with gold. It was almost like sari fabric. Well that survived  and yesterday I finally cut it!!! It is now several beautiful scarves edged in silky gold thread.

Elisabrat, did you threaten to feed that cat dog food? Makes me smile every time I see your avatar!

You girls are crazy! Funny. I know what you mean by justified...don't worry, no judgment here. My husband just retired a year ago...watching our pennies now. Love the orange fabric. About a year ago...I did do one small quilt. There is a man that quilts, calls himself the man Arkansas quilter. Really nice guy. He had one posted on FB so I asked him about. It was difficult locating those cheddar oranges...my absolute favorite. After I finished the quilt I started grabbing up more oranges, especially the cheddar, now have a bunch for another project. Love your sail boats! Orange is such a clean and exciting color! BTW I have an avatar that shows up when I go to my page but it doesn't come up where I post. Does anyone know the secret?
