You are too funny! Did you get one with the already painted faces on it or clean it out and carve the old fashioned way?.....and of course roast or plant the seeds!!:D

Krystyna, that is a very moving story about your seeing the towers fall. Something like that changes your outlook forever. It effected me that way too. Our daughter was on a bus on the way to the World Trade Center for a field trip. If those attacks had happened one hour later, she would have been there. A lot of the people in our area lost loved ones. (We lived near NYC back then)

I like the pumpkinny / jack-o-lantern / adorable children dressed up & trick or treating part of Halloween. We even dress up one of our dogs becasue it always makes the kids who come to the door laugh. Don't like the gory and macabre part. But that's just me.

Okay, i'm caving in here. Sign me up please, but maybe pair me with someone who would like a more Autumn themed type quilt. i'll PM you.

I know how you all feel, here in Oklahoma when Timothy McVeigh bomb the federal building, was to close for comfort, if I had waited 4 days to go to my bank I could of well just as been in that building when it went down because our bank was in that building, and not only that at that time my husband was on recruiting duty for the USMC and there region headquarters was in that building and my husband was in and out of that building often, but it just so happen that the Marine Corps sent my husband to Virgina for some schooling and he was out of the state we lost two Marines that day and a lot of them were injured......
It really hurt to know it was one of our own Americans that brought it down that day, it's hard to believe that he took that building down that day knowing there were children in that building. Just so sad!

It is funny how different traditions and ways of celebrating are around the country....until I was an adult and out of college and working, I never heard of people not celebrating Halloween because of religious reasons. We were ( are) a Christian family and so were our friends and neighbors and we went out trick or treating. It had nothing to do with anything religious for us...it was dressing up in costumes and going to the neighbors houses for candy...we usually would carve a pumpkin a few nights before and put a candle in it and had a few pictures of pumpkins and black cats taped to the window.....at Girl Scouts, we would have bobbing for apples and stuff like that and in junior high in home ec class we would do candy or carmel apples....I do decorate but it's not scary...I have cute ghosts and pumpkins and scarecrows, and even my witch is cute haha.

I am so incredibly excited about this one!! I absolutely love Halloween, the decorating, I love the cutie side of it, not the blood and gore.

We always celebrated Halloween but in our home growing up and with my children we celebrated most holidays. Decorations and family fun. I have nothing but fond memories .. and pray I get many more in the future. I already purchased a huge pumpkin for my front porch. So far no one has come up to eat it YET. No carving that is an instant critter invite. AND I received this amazing pumpkin from a friends garden. I have this one in the livingroom. I love that orange color. THAT SAID I am thinking yes to this swap. I will PM you and to any and all nothing scary and NO spiders blicko can not even say that word without cringing and making wiggly lips. Heck no.. fall, turkeys Hint as well I love them literally all year in my yard.. so I can go fall or halloween easily.
