Here is our finished product of Black and White Traditional Blocks with a Modern Twist. I could not be happier with the quilt.

Roda, your Dresden plates are beyond perfect. I have no idea how it is even possible to get a circle so perfectly round.

Judy, the log cabins done in those wonderful black and white prints remind me of bar graphs or a bar code. The fabric choices make a wonderful modern twist on one of the most traditional blocks out there.

Pat, thank you for you Sues and Sams. They are always one of my favorite blocks. The background you chose with the soft grey feathers is beautiful.

Kelly, the stars you added are lovely. All of the fabric in the stars are great, but I have to say the one with the sort of hound's-tooth/plaid combo is my favorite. Somehow the fabric reminds me of 1950's men's suits and when it is paired with the funky granite looking background it gives off the perfect vibe.

Thanks to all of you for working on this project. It's been tons of fun. Keep me in mind if any of you want to work on another project. I'm up for it.

Lisa you are so gracious with the above posting thank you for doing that. I truly love how the quilt came together and the final row you added is awesome! Is it cathedral windows? It's like I said before you ladies are so talented! I don't believe my quilting is as advanced as you ladies but someday....(this quilting is a journey for me!) you all have given me some what of a challenge and its been fun. I definitely know I have to work on flying geese, HST and accuracy etc. I want to thank you Lisa for your role in this round robin and keeping us all on track and your encouragement! I will post pictures when I get mine back.

Judy, the final row is actually from the 10 minute block video on YouTube with an extra small square set between the blocks. I thought it did a pretty good job of faking Cathedral Windows and is much easier.

For flying geese, I like the Quilt in a Day ruler method. I'm not a big fan of fancy rulers, but that one is worth the money to me. Without it my geese tend to have one short wind. I have no idea why!

For HST, I always do the cut down method. It is a bit more time consuming, but if I want HST that are square I have to do it.

I look forward to seeing pictures of everyone's quilts.

It looks like 3 of the quilts are home already. All 3 of them are pretty wonderful!

Judy and Kelly's are still out. It looks like Roda has Judy's and will get to it when the hay is finished. We've still got several days so it should all be fine.

I Have Kellys. I have to say I am stumped as to fabric choice, I've never used anything like what is in the rows with all the pattern. I have bought fabric twice, to get it home and its still all wrong. I still have a couple days so I am determined to get it done and in the mail. I just spent an hour going thru my stash again. I keep thinking I have something that will go with what has been used but if I do I cant find it. I think I am off to the fabric store again. I still think I will get it in the mail on time. Sorry I am so long in doing this one. Happy Sewing Pat

I ended up taking a couple of the tops to the fabric store with me because I knew I'd never pick well without them in hand. On Judy's, the ladies at the store were very helpful because I'd never used any type of Asian fabrics before.
