I have been watching this swap and haven't joined yet but this was posted today in the ornament swap so thought I better pass it on to you :
Girls I just did some texting with Krystyna this afternoon, right now she has no place to put things, may I suggest you all make a little place in a drawer or a box and put things in it that you wuold like her to have. FQ's, Ornaments things like that and as soon as they have someplace semi-permanet or permanet we can send them, possibly one of us can collect them all... I really don't think it's a great idea to send things now, cards yes, she can read those and put in an envelope if she wants to keep them... Most of you don't realize what it's like... I didn't go through it totally but was in a Hurricane when I first moved to Florida, I'm still afraid of the wind... 2 doors down from us the water was up 3 foot in thier house,, We were blessed we stayed dry... I cooked and fed and helped people with wash etc... John went and helped rebuild a neighbor's whold downstairs he didn't have insurance... I reall consider all those people who lived close by lucky as they were alive a
nd did have an upstairs to sleep in and were able to get rebuilt in no time, very little mold etc... Where Krystyna and other friends are, they aren't so lucky,,, maybe lucky to have a place to sleep and water to drink and food to eat but not much else... Save the fancy things for when things are better for her... bright cards and lots of smilely faces on them... Lot of love can be tucked in a card... She knows you care....
Hugs and GodBless

hi all! after no electricity for mon-saturday, which means no heat or hot water, i am glad to finally be back on the computer. i am very anxious to know how everyone made out. hope all are well and safe. had over 500 e-mails to read thru/ erase so it will take me forever to catch up. i'm so excited to have lynnie as my partner! wait till she finds out i'm thankful for 'roos and koalas! lol

i lived for 25 yrs with tornadoes. ask cqrobin and any other texas oklahoma people and they'll tell you you get minutes to get out of the way and even then it's a crapshoot. my first 25 yrs were spent with hurricanes and blizzards. i will take the several days to one week warning anytime and feel grateful and blessed to have it. just watch how fast i can pack and go! glad those who couldn't manage it came out alive.

Urgodschild2 what a great wall hanging! love the turkey and the pumpkin.. boy you are FAST. I was so concerned today what I was going to do, how would I get this done as I had completely forgot I am going for surgery this week and that well it was on my LEFT ARM and that it might well make sewing a tad hard for a while. How did that escape my thoughts I cant tell you (zoom never even came close to registering) but lucky for me I got an idea while flipping through a folder of want to makes and well I made the top tonight! I will be able to add a border and quilt it with any luck after the 11th as I leave tomorrow to go down to Stanford. ARGH I will be slow sending but it is so much closer than this morning! think it went rather nicely with the theme if I say so myself which I do.
