Winter/Holiday Block Swap 2015
#22
Hi girls!
Since my back is out, I can't do much else besides sewing. I finished up the elves legs blocks. (12 1/2 x 9 1/2) The other set, The candle (12 1/2 x 12 1/2), I had from a past swap I made too many for, but, it is perfect for this year. Gotta love already finished. Right?
That makes three sets of four. Moving right along to my next set of blocks this afternoon.

Oh Oh! Oh Oh! Letsquilt is tossing me a leftie! She says here: *This swap will be for sets of four (4) blocks. The limit is 6 sets per swapper. A total of 24 blocks.
The Halloween swap was for six sets of 4 blocks.
This made me ponder. When the host has 4 sets of 6 v. 6 sets of 4, does one team have the advantage? Is it easier to swap one way versus the other? Do we all end up with a better variety with one of the choices? Methinks there is a mathematical equation out there to define the answer to this question. (Oh my, I think I feel smoke coming out of my ears ~ I better stop asking questions now.... lol)

Thanks so much sweet! I worked hard on them. I have two sets of embroidery done today. A reindeer and a skating little girl. One is for a snow globe block I am making and the other will be set with a couple fabrics to make it larger.
That will make it one more set to make up the six sets.
I like the sets of four myself. It is less work and you don't get as tired of working on them. Not to mention you need less fabric to match all the same print. I usually make myself one, so that would be seven blocks in the set of six swap. But, only five now. The reason some swaps are set of four is because if the number of swappers is a low count, the set of four gives a larger amount interest and change. You see? There would be six separate sets of different blocks to choose from. That makes it much easier on the hostess.

Well! Isn't anyone else going to show and tell? I feel so alone here girls. Here is set number five. All finished up with the little red work ice skater in the middle of the 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" block. I will take a break and see if I have it in me to do the one last set I planned next week. A surprise block I know everyone will like. Not telling... LOL!

Red, you've done some cute sets - of course, I would like one of each set, too!!! However, I have not signed on for this swap yet so I can't ask for any . . . I haven't made us a Winter season quilt even though our daughter's & respected families received theirs last year for Christmas (what's wrong with this "picture"?????).
I like the idea of having to make only 4 blocks for one set (actually making 5 so I can have one ), and then if you're in a time crunch it's easier to make the 4/5 than the 6/7 IMHO. Anyway, let me mull it over about throwing my hat in the ring - tempting!!
