My sewing room - Before
#22
Thanks for the tour!! I bet it gets lots of people motivated! I have my "things". In my sewing room also! Cards and letters tacked on my cork boards along with my sewing stuff. Reminds me of the people I love!

Wow..what did I tell you...it looks so homey and wonderful...you like things that I like too...I have the machine hanging on the wall with the hooks under it..but I took my hooks off...you have some really neat things...you should be proud...you did an awesome job...now you can really turn out the quilts...Happy Quilting... You must have got some things from Collections etc...that's where I got all mine...they don't have many sewing things like they use to...love the row of ladies with the hats..where did you get those..

It doesn't do all the things my modern one does, but it does some of the things even better.

It had never been that bad before, but we had a change in lift style that caused some of the mess. My husband is a minister. We used to live in the parsonage in another town on the weekends, so I had a machine, boxes of fabric, etc over there. When he retired, I had to bring everything home and that's the reason for all the extra boxes. So since I don't have fabric in other towns to come home again, I think I can keep it nice now. I'm sewing now and it is a pleasure to be able to put my hands on what I want, when I want it.

What a great sewing room and so many wonderful memory items you have. I love your sewing machine lamp with the patchwork shade! I might have trouble sewing in your room because I would be too busy looking at all the neat stuff - ha ha. You did a super job cleaning it up and have lots of fun sewing!

You did a great job.. Would you like to visit NY, and organize my one bedroom apartment.. It seems that when I run errands on Sats, fabric seems to follow me home.. I nearly came home with another singer 66 for $24.. but then thought of where I could put it, and wished it luck on getting a new home, and be loved..

Wonderful organization!!
I started to redo my sewing area (plaster, paint, lay a ceramic floor, etc.) and finally got book cases and storage from Ikea and started to organize it when two sister-in-laws became ill. I retired Jan 31, 2014 and hoped to finish organizing in sewing area in basement and quilt until my heart was content. BUT, when the SIL'd needed help, I thought "God's perfect timing", and they came first. One of my dear sisters by marriage has gone to heaven, the other is still living with us and will hopefully be well enough to go to her house in a week or two. Then, I can get back to it. I did not take pictures before I started the "fabric storage room", but will take before pictures of the big room I will be starting soon and then take after pictures and share them with you.
The Board members have been a great inspiration and have given me a lot of good ideas.
