Always wanted a large desk like yours....just could not get it home in my Jeep Liberty. I did find a good size farm table in a antique store for $80 this past fall and turned it into my sewing table. Handsome fiancé even sunk my machine into the table for me. A three drawer cart fits underneath with my thread. Happy dance!!!!

Cricket, hope you recovering quickly and are keeping busy working on hand sewing or planning new projects. If it isn't too much trouble, I would greatly appreciate pictures of your husband's creation. Thanks.

I think it is much too pretty to cut a hole in.

Have you considered getting one of the devices that tilts your machine toward you?

Sew Ergo has them I think it is called a Sewing Machine Tilt table.

Then you would not have to cut the desk.
