I've talked to DH about a Murphy bed if we ever downsize and move for our retirement (not even close yet!). If you don't have guests often, I think it's a very smart solution to give you more space rather than a room sitting empty 50 weeks a year.

Beautiful love the idea.

what a great idea

Really a great idea, and he did a wonderful job of it. I love the quilt on the bed, and the strip on your design wall. It is so wonderful to have a design wall

That is pure genius - you still have your sewing room, but also room for guests. Hubby did a great job.

Great way to have the space you need.

Wow that is a wonderful idea and it looks like hubby did a great job.

Me too!!!
I repossessed my daughter's room and converted it back to my sewing room when she left for college. I had a sleeper sofa in there for when she would come visit. However like most sofa sleepers it was uncomfortable. I installed a Murphy Bed and they love it. It folds up out of the way and when closed, I have a design wall. For those of us who do not have a dedicated room and must share on occasion, it is wonderful.
--Liz Issaquah, WA [QUOTE=himnherr;6050570]For the past 13 years I have shared my sewing space with our guest room. About 2 years ago I figured out that since we only have guests stay 2-3 times a year I could surely put that space to better use........." |
This is a fabulous idea! You could pull that down, take a quick nap and dream of quilts. How clever are you, said Yoda

This is a wonderful idea. Now I am wondering if I can do that in my 2nd sewing room.
