How about a light gray?. You can add other colors to decorate as an accent.

Pale apple green sounds both cheery and calming. Green paint is really hard to get right, though, so I would say find a solid that you really like (scrapbook paper or fabric) with NO other color in it. Then have it color matched .Otherwise you will probably have a disappointment or two with trying to get the green the color you envision.

I've decided this is going to be my sewing room color. Not the light bluish gray I originally thought but I love this color so what the heck.

I vote for the green...if you find it makes you happy, it's perfect. My sewing room is in our daylight basement and being that I live in Alaska, I painted it a creamy yellow and light teal blue. Makes me smile every time I walk in.
