Default new ladder

My DH and DS made me this ladder for my sewing room. I am planning on staining and distressing it at some point in the future, but I'm so excited to have SOMETHING in my sewing room! This project has gotten a lot larger than I expected. I'm planning on putting my quilt tops that are waiting to be quilted on this ladder, so they are right in my face, hopefully ensuring that they will get quilted, and not just sit in a cupboard.

Good idea, and you have a wonderful husband and son.

Let me know if having the quilts staring you in the face actually gets them quilted. Mine do stare me in the face, and they're still not getting quilted. I think it's because I'm not yet ready to part with the quilt tops that are staring me in the face! They're my 'eye candy'.

Once I do quilt a top, the quilts do seem to find good homes quickly, so I'm fairly certain that's the real reason they're not getting quilted.

My DH made one for me also. Before staining he distressed it with both ends of the hammer. My will be used for displaying-now to get it filled.

Love it. We have an OLD one in our den with quilts displayed on it. We have gotten alot of comments on it. DH went over it with polyurethene (spelled wrong) to keep it from getting anything on the quilts.

Great idea! Will have to check out the lower garage, I am sure I saw a old one there.

Hi Michelle, my former in-laws had a small farm and had lots of items I used. I had an old ladder that I cleaned up and waxed with quilts on it. I also salvaged a tobacco basket and some sticks. I made a star with the sticks and hung the based on the wall with a small quilt.
