I solve that by just not pressing them until I'm ready to quilt. Mine have to be folded up and put in a cabinet though, I don't quite have the space you do!

I never press my tops. I totally finish each quilt before I start another. I just store finished quilts that has been washed and dry.

I do what you do, Jingle. It seems easier for me. Less confusion. Plus I fear that if I started a bunch of projects I would never get any of them done

I keep a quilt rack in my sewing room and lay smaller quilts tops and projects over it. Lucky for me, this rack holds a lot of UFO's. The bigger tops I roll onto long cardboard tubes until ready to quilt.

I did something similar to what you did but used a closet rod 8 feet long on brackets attached to the rafters above. My quilt tops were on hangers prior to this and due to their weight, the hanger would sag and the top would acquire wrinkles again. Now I can hang the quilt top and its backing together. I also hung my roll of batting up on the rafters too as it was in my bathroom taking up space. Now I can pull out how much I need over my cutting table below and cut.
