Does any one know who sells and services the Brenina sewing machine in the middle Ga area?

That was the first thing I did and the nearest one is in Columbus which would be about as far as it would be to go to Atlanta. I bought a 930 Brenina Record back in the late 80's in Macon. I really like it. I keep it oiled and cleaned and have never had any trouble with it. It was sewing fine and a few hrs. later I went back to sew some more and something has happened to it. It is like the needle won't go down. It goes down to a certain point and it is like it is hitting on something. I removed the needle, the bobbin case and the hook. Still doesn't go down. Took the covers off and can not see what is causing it. The bobbin winder works. I think I am going through withdrawal. My husband wants to get his hands on it and I won't let him. Have any of you ever had this happen to your machine?

2b,
The Atlanta Sewing Center is your place for Bernina sales and/or service. They have two stores. One is in Duluth, the other is on Barrett Parkway in Kennessaw. They can fix you up. A phone call can sometimes clear the problem since all the staff know the machines very well. They've talked me through a thing or two.

2bhome,
How long has it been since you used your basting stitch? If not used at least monthly the linkage tends to get hung up and
the machine does what you described.
I love my Bernina 930, its a wonderful machine. I've had mine about 10 years.

There's a dealer in Macon, Hartley Bridge Rd. that sells Babylock. The closest to Macon is in Duluth. There's also one in Marietta. I believe the Babylock dealer also services Bernina. Their name is Magical Stitches.

There's also a Brother dealer in Macon that services Bernina but I wouldn't recommend them. I took my machine in to have the tension checked and cleaned. They charge an extra $25.00 to send the embroidery unit along with the machine. The dealer I bought my machine from in Kentucky never did that. Maybe all dealers charge extra to take the unit. They're not really very friendly there either.
