I'm going to both West Palm Beach and Orlando for a couple weeks and would appreciate if any of you can suggest some great quilt shops I can visit while there...or any place else I should visit. I'm planning on lounging on the beach and by the pool in Palm Beach while hubby fishes at Okeechobee...dolphin swimming in Orlando while hubby golfs. Looking forward to my first extended trip to Florida.

Rainbow's End Quilt Shop in Dunedin is THE quilt shop to go to in Florida. It's on the Gulf side of the state. I don't get there very often because it's a 4 - 4 1/2 hour drive for me. Here's their website: http://rainbowsendquiltshoppe.com/

Try to get some time in St. Petersburg if you can. Have some real floriday key lime pie. Take pictures and get inspired for a tropical quilt you can make when you go back home in the middle of the winter.

Maybe take one special photograph and get it printed on cotton fabric and use that as a key piece.

Oh and in Venice, Fl, (Gulf coast side) they have a statue of the kissing scene(sailor kisses nurse) when the guys were coming home from WW2

I live just north of Orlando, I like The Quilt Shop of DeLand, not in Orlando but a nice shop. I don't know when you will be in West Palm, but the World Quilt Show is there starting on Nov 12th, I am going to that on Friday. If you want to PM me as to when you will be in Orlando, maybe we could get together.
