Smile Mid-Atlantic Quilt Fest 2012

I went, I saw, the fabric conquered me! My friend and I met there at 10(ish) and stayed until 6(ish) and still couldn't see everything. It was fabulous! We got some great fabrics for projects coming up soon and some that are still in the formative stages. The works of art hanging for viewing were unbelieveable! The workman(woman)ship on the quilts was beyond fabulous. We decided that one had to start quilting at a very tender age to become as proficient and artistically talented to produce the pieces on display. My mind is numb, my feet hurt and my back aches . . . It was a wonderful and fun day!!

I wish I had gone yesterday. I was planning to go today, but the weather forecast is for severe thunderstorms and damaging winds today. I think I'll try tomorrow instead.

I too was conquered by the fabric: I decided I had better leave before I spent any more money! Awesome show and great vendors this year

oh my I am leaving in a few hours. I was hoping I could see it all in one day. I won't be spending any money so maybe the vendors won't slow me down. :-)

I went on Thursday, I am still exhausted. It is my first time at a quilt show. The quilts were amazing! I want to go back but don't think I will make it. Wish I could have bought more. It was well worth the trip!

Just got back. I learned that next year I start in the middle with the quilts and leave all the vendors till after ward. I am exhausted. I did take a bunch of pictures. I just have to download them from my camera and resize and crop. since this was my first time I learned a lot. The buffet wasn't bad. I saw Ami Simms having lunch but didn't want to bother her . She looked kinda tired. Saw John Flynn too. I got to play with the little quilt frame. I like it a lot. It was really easy to do. I bought some stencils, a thimble, a couple of rulers and a pair of earrings. Yep not one piece of fabric. I will definately go again next year.
