A quilt exhibit sponsored by the Sealy Area Historical Society featuring antique quilts will be on display at the Liedertafel in Sealy, Texas on March 31, 2012. Dr. Kitty Ledbetter will present at a reception held on Friday, March 30, at 6:00 PM at the Liedertafel. Dr. Ledbetter is a professional quilt appraiser, award-winning quilter, and scholar of nineteenth-century needlework. She is author of Victorian Needlework, a guide to nineteenth-century needlework techniques, technology, resources, significance, and practices. Dr. Ledbetter will also appraise quilts during the Quilt Show on March 31, 2012. Appetizers and refreshment will be served at the Quilt Show Reception. Admission to the reception is $8.00. Admission to the Quilt Show on March 31 is $2.00.
In addition to the Quilt Show, the Spring Picnic will be held on March 31, 2012 at the Santa Fe Museum Grounds in Sealy, Texas. The Spring Picnic has the feel of a picnic at the turn of the 20th Century. Games and tournaments will include: croquet, badminton, washer pitching, hoop and stick races, tricycle races, checkers & dominoes. Entertainment will include a puppet show of circus animals, a parade of antique cars, trucks, tractors and horse drawn wagons, a skit featuring Bonnie and
