Below are some pics of a quilt I finished last night. It was made from a Moda layer cake of the "Fig & Plum" collection and measures 60" x 72". The pattern is one I guess I made up myself. I took a light layer cake piece and placed it right sides together with a dark layer cake piece and stitched all around the edges. I then cut it diagonally both ways to make 4 HSTs from the two layer pieces. I then arranged the darker pieces into diamonds with the lighter pieces surrounding them. I free-motion quilted it on my sewing machine.

This will be a Christmas gift for my other sister-in-law, Sharla.

do you use a frame when you are quilting? DO you have your own long arm?

What a clever way to do the HST! I think I might even try that. Your points came out well. And I really like the color combinations.

No frame, and I just used my regular sewing machine, I don't have a long-arm. Maybe someday. :)
