I love the 10 minute block for a couple of reasons, the foremost being that my iron doesn't shut off between blocks! And it really is an easy quilt to put together, a good thing for those of us who procrastinate.

I started this quilt on Saturday, and had it ready to present on Tuesday, a record for me (although I'm stitching the label as we type, as it were). A friend of mine is fighting cancer and I couldn't decide what to make. Then I came across these batiks in my stash, and voila!, the creative juices responded. Thanks to everyone for posting thier versions and suggestions, always helpful and inspiring!

The whole shebang!

I did mean to mention that in my post, thanks for the reminder!

I started with 10 fat quarters that I got from somewhere, probable ebay. I washed the fabrics, and then was able to was able to cut each quarter into six seven inch blocks per quarter. There was enough left over to make a 2 1/2" wide binding strip (with a little of the backing added to make ends meet!)

Once assembled, I trimmed the blocks to 13 inches square. The quilt is roughly 38" x 51". The backing is fabric left over from another project and I used leftover Warm and Natural batting. The quilt has been washed and dried in the dryer to make the quilting "pop"
