I made this for my walking buddy, Sue. It's for her birthday next month. She dearly wants to have chickens, but her husband said flatly, "No." So I decided she'd get her chickens this way. This is my second attempt at free motion quilting. I just followed the design of the fabric in the center, and I did a kind of heart pattern in the outer border. The inner border is a decorative stitch from my sewing machine.

If you like this pattern, you can find it free here:

    http://patsloan.typepad.com/quilters...epatterns.html

You'll probably have to scroll down a little bit to find it. There are several cute patterns on this website. Be sure to check the corrections at another spot on the website.
