My mom turned 86 this week. She has been a little down after losing my dad last year and battling breast cancer with weekly chemo. I made a placemat to help remind her to start each day with a sunny disposition and a purse with a back pocket to carry her e-reader on the day she goes for treatments. I revised a pattern by Lazy Girl patterns to make the purse wider to carry the e-reader in the back pocket, it was made with 2 fat quarters. Thanks for looking!

Both the quilt and the bag are lovely. I know your Mom will love both of them. A lot of thought and love went into both of them. Wish her a happy birthday from me.

That's the method I created for my stained glass quilts!

Glad you get to enjoy making things for your Mom. I know she loves them...hope she is feeling better. Does she like her e-reader?

What wonderful gifts, I'm sure your mom will love them. I like the e-reader idea. My mom puts hers in her purse.

I wondered if that wasn't yarn on your lines of stained glass. It looks really good. You did a great job.

What a thoughtful daughter you are to make her something bright and cheery to start her day. I love the bag too
