Default 1st of 2 twin quilts in the works

I've been asked to make 2 twin sized quilts- long & narrow- with the colors- white, turkey red, olive green, orange, gold, yellow- solids...quite a challenge for me- the quilts are to be similar to each other-but not the same- and 'loosely' based on my backyard gathering wool quilt- but with cottons.
so, here is the 'body' of the first one- I still need to finish appliqueing the wide vine/flower outer borders and attach them- then move onto the second one (well-really I have the first 6 blocks started) I will be happy when these 2 quilts are finished.

Nice - looks like a lot of applique. Do you do it by machine or hand? Either way, it looks good.

the applique is by machine on these two---the original was all hand- but the person who requested these asked for machine---still a lot of stitching even with the machine.

Lovely rendition of a mid 1800s quilt; you've done a great job!
