Hi, I went to a small quilt show in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Saturday. It was their local quilt guild show. There were a few vendors there, and I stumbled upon 20 dresden plate blocks. They appear to be old, and are hand made. I'm wondering if this is feedsack material. Also, any ideas on what to do with these blocks would be appreciated. I don't think I wanna make a quilt from them. Some of the muslin has some tiny stains on them...Thanks for looking.

Very nice! I have seen them framed and used as a grouping on a wall.

I would really think with 20 they would make a beautiful quilt. They could be washed, maybe best done after they are quilted. The stains may come out. Use color catchers in the wash. I don't know what kind of fabrics they are. In my opinion it would be a shame not to make a quilt out of them. A dark sashing between them would really set them off.

OOOOHHHHH!!! They're beautiful - lucky you!!! I loike the idea of framing them. Many years ago a friend gave me a beautiful antique-y tray that has part of an antique quilt covered with glass - another idea for you. Have fun!

Nice find! I have a similar batch of 18. Will be making 3 wall hangings with them. I found a solid green that matches, and will use that for the sashings. Using yellow for the cornerstones.
Do make something with them, stained or not. Would be a shame not to. IMHO~

If the fabric is a little on the coarse side - then it is probably feed sacks. But definately authentic 30's fabric.

Two wall hangings of 3x3. You'll have two left over to make mini wallhangings or pillow tops. You could frame the two leftovers with vintage lace added across opposite corners.
