Default 2 new: Memory Quilt and Baby Quilt

Hi everyone! I'm sharing pictures of 2 quilts I've recently completed. The first is a baby quilt made from a Moda Bakeshop I Spy pattern (http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/03/...ngs-quilt.html). The mother-to-be had asked for hot pink bandana and denim. I think it's pretty darn cute! The pattern used charms but I cut my own. The color is a little 'wonky'... but no biggie. Quilt #8.

the 2nd quilt is a Memory Quilt I made from my Dad's Shirts. Dad was a coin collector and member of his Baptist Church for 79+ years. The pattern is Collecting Coins from an older issue of Quiltmaker magazine and the quilt was quilted in a variation of Baptist Fan. The border is quilted in baroque hearts. I love this quilt. It was a very cathartic process in many ways. After I completed this one, my mom made 3 others substituting ecru muslin for the white for my other siblings. This was my 6th quilt.

    Thanks for looking!

Both of these are fabulous, for totally different ways. The baby quilt is so bright & happy & cheerful... the mom certainly picked some chipper colors & they work wonderfully! What baby girl wouldn't want to be cuddled in that little gem? And your "Coins" quilt is awesome because (a) it's beautiful in a quiet, subtle wat & (b) it contains such wonderful memories. What a great use for plaids! I just love, love, love it! Kudos on 2 jobs well done!

Beautiful baby quilt and lovely shirt quilt....I have some of my father's overalls and plan on one day making a quilt for my dau who was his pet. Just every time I start on it I miss him so much and just can't continue. But one day, I hope to do this. Also have some of my mothers things to add to this quilt......I did manage to make a few aprons for the girls with her dresses. Just have to work on them as I can.
