    Default Amish colors quilt

Last summer, while visiting in NY, I purchased several pieces of fabric from an Amish fabric store. These are fabrics that the ladies use for their dresses and men's shirts. The fabric store was actually a room in a lady's house. Over the winter I made a quilt top using these fabrics, Union Star pattern, set on point. I realized it was too big me for me to quilt on my domestic machine. My husband suggested having an Amish lady quilt it. On this year's trip to NY, I found a lady to quilt it for me. It arrived today. She had quilted it and bound it in about a month. I thought she was going to bind it in black, but she chose to use purple, which tied it in with a color of some of the stars. We are quite pleased with her work.

Wonderful! It is so appealing with those solid colors on the black background and the quilter did a great job selecting a motif and completeing it for you. This is a real treasure.
