I really like this one--the pattern and the colors. It's the same as that sunflower one I posted weeks ago--but I made everything smaller.

I keep changing my mind about what color to use on the inner and middle borders. I first thought the rust for the inner, then medium green. BUT, now I'm thinking yellow has to be the inner border.

The pattern calls for the big print to be the outer border--and to be 7" wide--but it's just seems too busy to me. I left the 3rd border off in the last one.

    Help me decide!!!!

We all have such different opinions you know you're going to get 50+ different ideas. :D And in the end you'll still have to make that final decision! For what it's worth, and it's not much...

I'd use that light cream (is it the yellow you mentioned?) then the third color, that deep red and then the flowers again if you have some left. I don't know if I'd make it 7 inches wide but at least 4" - 5". What ever you do it's going to be beautiful!

Of course you could run all 5 rails around the whole thing.

Just keep putting them up against the quilt. Pretty soon something will say, "It's me! I'm the one!!!" and you'll know it when it happens.

They all talk at once or no one's talking. :D

I do like that yellow though--for the first one. And green will be a binding... the rust was always a favorite....

I can relate. When I was building my Garrulous Quilt (aka Big Yellow) it kept yakking and yakking at me and kept growing. It was hilarious except it was breaking the bank listening to it. It just wouldn't be quiet.

I'd put a narrow border (1 inch finished) of the dark red/rust to frame the quilt and put a wider border of the light green and bind it with the dark green... or put the dark green as the border after the narrow red and put the light green as the binding... :)

I wouldn't make the last border any wider than 4 inches finished...any wider and it would dwarf the quilt center. (only my personal opinion) :)

The normal size directions suggested the 7" border for the 3rd--so since I made it smaller--4" would be about right.

    Thanks!

    Yellow? Rust? Yellow? Rust? :?: :?: :?: :?:

Okay--rust won. I decided I didn't want yellow next to the yellow stripe in the squares. I had to think of something! It's 1 inch finished. It looks good. Now for border 2....
