What a wonderfully bright, scrappy quilt! I know your DGS will love & treasure this for years to come. I know it means the world to him to have it to take with him. Please thank him for his service for me. I'll hold good thoughts for all of your kin till they're home safe!

I'm sure he will use it. He walked around hugging it instead of packing. He sure he had the perfect space for it in one duffle bag. I told him to roll it tightly and shake it out when he reaches his destination. His mother kept saying, "You didn't have to do that". I finally had to tell her that I certainly did and it was between Matt and me.

Thank you for your compliments on my simple quilt and good wishes for my GS. He's our first Army - his sister and my son were Marines, his cousin is in the Navy.

Irishrose, That is another pretty quilt from you. Even thought it is colorful it still has a patriotic feel to it with the stars and RWB. A quilt to be proud to claim. Please tell your GS thank you for serving US. I wish him safety and God Bless him!

Some of the colors have meaning. The pink tie dye because he has a daughter, the black with bright circles because it's from his favorite sister's Jewel Box quilt, the dusty blue because it has gorgeous eagles on it, yellow because I wish him sunshine, etc. The grayish looking strips are white stars on a dark blue ground and there are patriotic prints from JoAnn's, too. He thought it was RWB enough.
