    Beautiful quilt. Just keep it and next time another baby is born you will be ready with the gift. You did a great job on it.

    Maybe her hormones are making her cranky and she spoke too quickly. Although I'd either keep the quilt until somebody else needs a baby quilt or donate it (lots of places would love to have it, I'm sure), I'd also gently let her know that her comments were hurtful. And give her something more to her suiting and less labor/love intensive from the store.

    I think it's great! I would keep it until another baby came along. It seems the need for baby quilts outnumbers the others I give away.
