I grew up and lived on Kodiak. My former husband and I moved here 20 years ago but I go back to visit family every summer. I leave next week to see my 88 year old father, my brother and his family, and my sister and hers. Plus, I need that fresh caught salmon and to pick salmonberries from the front yard. I also lived and taught in Anchorage for about 8 years.

And didn't the fireweed just bloom so beautifully up there in Alaska?!? I lived in Alaska too for 31 years. Wonder if we know one another from being quilters?
I just sent a message and did not know to respond to you I had to do "quote reply" so I think my response to you is at the end of all the responses. I am learning to navigate this board.
