    since it will have piecing and applique, would you consider red embroidery for the centers?

    Very cool pattern, I love the effect!

    I think a vine and flowers would look great, but really you could have anything you're into. Small red butterflys and vines would be nice, butterflys are my thing. You could have hearts, chain lengths, flames, (trying to think outside the square here)

    What about a black vine, your light black/white print leaves and lots of red berries??

    It's beautiful!! And you could just "make up" a flower that's all red with maybe some black in it to go in the middle....

    I appreciate all your suggestions. I'm going to put the vines and leaves on in green and keep looking for something other than the flower shape they provide. It is just too plain for this great design. I can't put the blocks together till after I do the applique, but can continue with the top and bottom borders. They are both white with the applique as well. :)
