Default Bonnie Hunter inspired quilt

As I was sewing the top of this quilt last night by "webbing " the rows. I thought of how much I have learned by watching Bonnie Hunters quilt cam and by visiting her website and facebook page.

This quilt that I am making for my son is made from recycled men's shirts that I "deboned". I then cut them into 2 inch strips and started making 9 patches and just kept making them. I pinned them together in sets of 10's.

I was going to set these as a "dancing nine patch" but it just did not feel right so I changed and used an orange shirt as sashing instead.

Even my choice of this orange striped shirt is Bonnie inspired as it is not normally a color that I would have used but now it seems to tie everthing together.

I made the piano key borders as leaders and enders as I was sewing the 9 patches and have to finish one more strip.

The colors in the quilt are a bit brighter but did not show up well in the photo. Its not perfect by any means, but I am liking it and learning lots as I go.

Completely agree that the orange sashing is really nice with colors in the 9 patches.

Great quilt. I really like the orange, ties it all together nicely and adds a pop of color.
