    I won! I won! I won!

I asked some advice from Billy (Lostn51) and smartly took it and bid on this machine. It's pink, and looks clean as a whistle. I'm so excited. I paid for it, and now have to wait for it to arrive. I think I did well too. $41.27. (Plus $38 for shipping, LOL)

Thanks, Billy! I was drawn to the color and the styling, but it also looks like a workhorse, which is what I want. Fabulous and pink. What could be better?

    Yeah!!

Congratulations!!! She sure is cute all dressed in pink. I just (4 days ago) got my new baby..1956 (thought it was '52) Elna Supermatic...all dressed in grass green!! I was very excited. Waiting for the controller to arrive, then I try it out. Good luck with yours!!

Looks like a beauty. Is it okay to want a machine just because of the color. I saw a beautiful turqouis one the other day on some list. But it was out of my budget.

    Congratulations :-D

I don't think it's bad to look at color. It caught my eye. I was also looking at a Singer, I think 403? Slantmatic, which was kind of a yucky tan. I like Pink better, but I also looked at a turquoise machine, and a couple of green ones.

I think the guts are most important, but if you can get what you want in a pretty package- what's the harm? Billy gave the thumbs up to several I was looking at. The other was a Brother zig-zag on ebay that is black and pink. (Even more fabulous in its styling) which I think ends tomorrow. Lots of good buys for the 50's/60's machines.

These are a few that look like solid machines and are in the turquoise range. I'd check with Billy, and get an opinion before bidding- he gave me some sound advice on one that was good, but they wanted too much, so it's good to have an opinion by someone familiar.

Sure, come on by. I've got a guest room. (It's got fabric in the closets and under the bed, but still.)
