That is the Buttonhole Stitch. It's really easy.
Did you do that stitch by hand? Are the edges just raw or turned under. I have never made an applique quilt, but have been collecting 30's fabric for one. Any tips? Just love yours.
I turn the edges under, applique them down with matching thread. Then go around it with the buttonhole stitch. This is pretty easy as far as applique goes. The bunnies are just one piece of fabric and they are big.
