Being cheap or thrifty or making due or recycling is the true nature of quilting. Some people are talented enough to make art out of things others throw out!! Remember flour sacks!!!!

Nothing wrong with a little frugality. A lot of young people could learn that lesson. Both look great.

You could be from the Canary Islands. Cheap ! Cheap ! All kidding aside the young people need to throw less away and recycle more. It shows that we grew up during the WWII. Even candy was rationed. Gasoline ????Fabric ???That's why feed sacks were used. Loved your tote.. Hugs

I guess I am cheap, also.. For some reason, I am finding ways to use things just by looking at them.. I came up with the idea of not throwing away strips that I trimmed off the fabric that I am going to cut for projects. I am going to crochet them into a rug..

You are frugal not cheap. In my Grannies day, they called it being thrifty.

Some wonderful soul on here mentioned the book "The Persian Pickle Club" which I read because of that and really enjoyed it...Lovely group of women quilters just as here who knew the meaning of "make do" while enjoying the process. Thanks to all....glad to know there are lots of us out there...
