I just finished this Christmas gift for my adult son. I didn't know I was making it until a few days before Christmas, so I've been working on it as much as possible trying to get it finished. The pattern is called Boxed Squares and can be found here. I made extra blocks to make a larger version.

I used most of two bali pops in the Capuccino colorway. Bali pops are like jelly rolls, each has 40 strips of batik fabric, 2.5" wide. It's machine quilted with a variegated Sulky thread called Milk Chocolate, and has a cozy flannel back. I want to keep it!

oh, wow, I love that! It's simple but really really nice! I wonder if it would be as nice in another colour...

Wow! Of course you want to keep it....I would too! This is really stunning. Good job and you really worked this out in a hurry, geez. Another beautiful quilt that proves a pattern need not be complicated...let the fabric do the work. Thanks for posting!

I love this...I've been wanting to do one of these. This is the one that's going to push me into it. Hope mine turns out half as nice as yours did. Thanks for sharing with us.

I am making the same block for my daughter's quilt. Or at least i think it is the same block. I think mine was called bright hopes block. I will have to get a picture and post it.
