Card Tricks Silk Wall Hanging

Your quilt is beautiful and I love the silk. Have you ever tried "Fray Check". I made my grand daughters flower girls dresses out of silk and I used it and had real good luck. It works great for satin too. You should be proud for being so brave.

OMG, that is beautiful!!!!!! Wow. Card trick is one of my favorites. ****making note to self to NEVER quilt with silk****
I made my DIL's sister a wonderful large tote for Christmas, because as a teacher, she always can use one. I decided to use faux suede and I swear I will never touch that stuff again. Same as the silk -- it frayed like crazy. Big, long threads of fray, and the frayed strands had so much static that they stuck to EVERYTHING. Never again. I told her to really, really love that bag because it had a part of my sanity in it.

Thanks everyone! I'm sorry I put you all off using silk - it is such beautiful fabric! I have quite a bit of the black left so I guess I'm going to have to work with it again SOMEDAY! Will certainly look into that Fray Check - I tried to glue mine all together with spray starch - the pieces stood up on their own! LOL

Well for having so much grief with the fabric while piecing it, it sure came out a beauty! I like the idea of using the silk varigated thread to quilt it. I hope you post it when your finished quilting it. With all the fancy quilting you have been doing lately, this should be one beautiful quilt when it is quilted with your feathers.
