Chellenge block win
One of the local quilt stores participates in a car and quilt show every August. Almost all of the stores in the village have quilts in their windows. And there is an amazing car show at the same time.
Each year the quilt store sells a fat eighth of challenge fabric to those who are interested in making a block. All the money goes to a local charity and the quilt made from the finished blocks gets raffled off the next year with those proceeds going to the same charity. All of the 12 1/2" blocks are displayed during the show and the public votes on their favourite. For the second year in a row, I won! Yippee!

The challenge fabric was the yellow floral. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to combine it with some brights. I stitched around all of the pieces, added rows of stitching for body feathers and gave my little owl friend a touch of "hair" on top of his head.

These are the items that were in my basket.
I wonder if I can go for a 3peat next year.
