Default Christmas Flamingos

Yes I made this for my mother in law who used to live there half of the year. She now only is in Louisville, Ky. So I got to thinking maybe she missed some of the sites there and made her this lap quilt for lounging around the house. I hope she likes it. It isn't perfect quilting, but it is done!

It is an odd color, so it took a long time and four different stores/sites before I could find all the right fabrics to coordinate with the flamingos. Three on line and one local fabric store with the original flamingo fabric. Oh and the backing was somewhere else too. Five stores to make it.

That's very thoughtful!!! Great job matching the colors, which isn't easy shopping online.

Love this quilt!! Great job on matching colors. The flamingo print is fabulous! Really like the backing you selected. A very nice gift for you mother-in-law.

Good job with coordinating the fabric. Did you use the Warm Wishes pattern??

Thanks so much girls! I have it all wrapped and in the box with five purses and a table runner to go back east tomorrow. They all celebrate together, so it is really convenient to mail to where the party is. One other purse will fly to California tomorrow as well. For the one who also won't be there for Christmas. That is all of hubby's kin, now to finish mine! I am encouraged I will make it now. My relatives are all either here or in a neighboring state.

That is so pretty and like the material. Yes, it is hard to match on line.

Lovely quilt, and great job matching colors! I think Warm Wishes is such a versatile pattern - perfect for showing off a cool focus fabric like your flamingoes.
