I really like your quilt. Actually, that's a very old block (Twin Sisters) updated with a much easier way to make it. It also in Eleanor Burns book, "Quilts Through The Seasons." I played around with the strip width and found that using 3 1/2" wide strips will yield an 8" finished block. I also used different colored strips and made a scrappy version. I like your idea of adding the solid squares between the blocks. The recipients are gonna love it.

I love that layout. A very pretty quilt.
I rarely make a quilt exactly as the "pattern" says. I usually have to change something.
Then it's all mine and a one-of-a-kind.

I do like the colors and lay out. Can't wait to see how you quilt it.

Your version is very pleasing to the eye and flows very well.
Thanks for sharing.

Most of the quilts I make are my own design. I will find a block I like and then 95% of the time I will build on that block. I just have to wait until the block speaks to me. Thanks for the kind words.

I really like your creative way of changing the pattern. Love it. You did a wonderful job and love the color choices.
