Default Colorful Variation of Jack and Jill Pattern

I watched a YouTube video by Jenny Doan of MSQC. She called it Jack and Jill Quilt. I didn't care for how it looked so I decided to change it a little as I liked the blocks but not the design. A while back I was given a roll of 8" wide very pale blue cotton fabric. The lady that gave it to me worked in a shirt factory and I think this was used to make pockets or cuffs on mens shirts. The blocks were 5 1/2" so I decided to put a same size square of the pale blue between and lay it out differently. I like how it is turning out. It is for a wedding present for a grandson getting married in February (if I get it finished) LOL. I gladly accept any criticisms or suggestions you might have. Thanks for looking.

Cute top! I might quilt ghost blocks in the blue squares and SITD the pieced blocks.

I like the redirection you used to make this quilt. I like the setting better than the original also.

Very interesting variation. The pale blue makes for a better balance in the quilt. I agree that quilting with ghost line in the blue would be good. What a sweet gift!
