Default Comfort quilt for 13 yr old boy

This is the comfort quilt for the brother of my DGD's friend. They lost their dad just days before Christmas. He likes snowboarding and this was my first try doing grammatjr's cutwork technique.
The rest of the quilt is a scrambled D9P.

That just looks like a snuggly quilt. The colors are a good combination. Nice going!

Wonderful gift. It is amazing how much comfort a quilt can give and this surely will.

Linda it's beautiful. Great colours for a boy and even the back looks cool. Love your work and your heart.

That is so wonderful for you to do! Your quilt looks fantastic and will be a giant hug for the friend.

My DD works at a place where teens have been removed from their homes for numerous reasons. This Christmas she is a counselor for a boys house for 6 boys. She wanted to get them something for Christmas, and 2 of them she just couldn't decide what to get them, so she bought the fleece blankets of something she knew they liked. She said both boys (one is 12 the other 16) were so thrilled they almost cried. They wrapped up in them immediately. She was shocked but I told her it can be like a giant hug and we all need hugs.
