Stunning! I love your curved crosshatching and yes I think you should do a whole cloth quilt. It will be wonderful with your talent.

I think it's wonderful. How you can do that on free motion I don't know. I can never keep straight lines straight. I think a whole quilt would look lovely.
    Well done

Thanks to your post, I showed DH your curved cross hatching. DH loved it! He just told me I can order for myself my Mother's Day presents. I'm going to order 2 things: Ronda's Double S curved cross hatch rulers, thanks to you!!!, and a book by Pam Bono, The Big Book Of Quick Rotary Cutter Quilts, containing a quilt pattern for flying geese (literally geese in flight and not the flying geese quilt block pattern.) I've been wanting to experiment with the curved cross hatches on my domestic for a while now and the geese will go into the quilt for our bed.

I'm doing the happy dance in my chair! Thanks again for my presents! I owe them to you! :)

Congratulations!!! Glad I could help out!

LOVE the geese quilt design you've got coming too!

For this piece, I made a half circle template out of clear gridded template plastic from JoAnn's, but it was clear that Ronda's rulers with the 1/4 and 1/2 inch markings would work MUCH better. So...I ordered and just got Ronda's small double S curved ruler in the mail and can't wait to try it out. I've also talked to the LQS about the possibility of ordering in some of her rulers. If they will, I'll buy more through them; if not, I'll order more from Quilter's Rule.

Can't wait to see what you create--Have a great time with your Mother's Day gifts!!!

Your quilting is wonderful. Wool will puff better. Or there is a very thin polyester that you can put over the cotton and get great relief in those feathers. They are done so well.

Thanks~I think you're right. This quilting needs more puff than the cotton batting gives it. I've got some nice poly I'm going to try out. I also find that I really like a couple of layers of 80/20 to give a quilt a softer feel and drape. I used Hobbs wool in a sofa throw and I just LOVE it, but it's not as easy-care as poly or poly cotton blends.
