Ditto here. You could use the heart on the back as part of a label stating "My Heart (design) belongs to Maltese (name). Then finish the label in redwork!

I think that is the perfect answer. The heart on the back. You did a wonderful job on the Maltese. I am so sorry she is gone.

Oh I would leave the heart. it belongs there. Lovely quilt and great quilting ideas too!!
