Diaper Bag for Granddaughter
#11
Thanks Loretta. The burp cloths are diapers and she wants some of them embroidered with baby's name. My question is about the hooping. Is there a trick to getting the fabric level in the hoop so that the name does not appear to be marching upwards or downwards? I managed to avoid that in the diaper bag by embroidering first and cutting the pattern piece after. I won't be able to do that on the burp cloth or a garment. I just have a book for help and it does not cover that.

Loretta, yes I think I understand using the bottom edge as a guide. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. I was thinking I needed some sort of registration marks. So basically just eyeballing the straightness should work. Geesh, my hair is turning grayer by the minute! I have the Embird demo right now and the manual is over 400 pages! Here is a link to some burp cloths on EBAY that she likes. I'm thinking "Well, I have an embroidery machine - how hard can it be?" LOL

Thank you SewSew. If anyone has a need for the pattern, it is the Hot Mama Messenger style diaper bag from Wired Up Designs. My first bag too. The lining has lots of little pockets and there are two pockets on each side on the outside as well. It also has a little changing pad pattern that fits inside the bag. Here is the link:

Thank you Klue. The main fabric is Amy Butler from her Midwest Modern line. I purchased it online here:
