Easy Circle Quilt for practicing FMQ'ing
#1
I made this top in about an hour. I already had circles cut since I made them out of my scrap material from my Flannel and my old Jeans Tumbler Quilt. I also had some left over Mulim from another quilt so this is all made from scraps. I will FMQ today which should not take long. The front and back materials is all one piece. I used a glue stick to hold the circles on the quilt. Can't wait to see how it looks once done. The circles are raw edge and I am just going to FMQ on each of them. I can't wait to wash it to see how it holds up.

Funny you bring up this subject! I did a wall hanging earlier this week with the about the same idea. I did find that when I used a glue stick the items did not really stick in place (but I did a blanket stitch around each) and some of the circles did have some tucks in them. Since this was a wall hanging for my sewing room I did not take out the tucks. I also FMQ around the circles. Now this was the first time I worked with circles. I found it will be better to fused the circles next time.

I had no problems with the glue stick but I think in the future I may only use jeans...were it would be ok if it frays. I finished FMG'ing not the greatest. I have never done circles before but since this is all down with scraps I am fine with it. I would only do this for a lapquilt and for someone that does not mind the fray look like a teenagers. I still need to bind and then wash.
