Excited about this table runner
Last Thursday I took a class on making a table runner using the QCR Mini Ruler. It really was a great class & I like that the ruler was mutli-purpose. Today I finished piecing the top. Think it's the coolest runner I've done so far!! It uses a charm pack and some yardage for the background, binding & backing. The instructions called for just 20 charms but I used 40, so my runner is double the length. Can't wait to get quilting on it. Have to tell you this ... I was so excited when I finished the top, I showed it to my son (45 yrs old). I said to him, "Isn't this the coolest?" He said, "Yeah ... it's a bunch of 8's." Can't help but love him!!

Very nice! Have not heard of that ruler but will check it out online. Are your going to add a gray border? I love the charm pack you used. Which one is it? I think a nice gray border then some colored binding would make one of the prettiest runners I've seen yet. Guess you will have to name it "Crazy Eights" in honor of your son. LOL
I forgot to say, I can see some versatility in that pattern. For example you could use print for the centers and frame with 4 solids using colors from the print. Very nice job and you should be proud!

Hi Just Jan, The charm pack I used was One for You, One for Me by Pat Sloan. I love her fabrics ... Think they are very "happy". There is a website mentioned on the ruler ... sewkindofwonderful.com I haven't checked the site out yet, but will be doing that soon. The directions that come with the ruler are very good ... easy to follow. Hope you get to make one!
