I've been looking for just the right snowflake stencil for hubby's snowman throw, and hadn't found anything just right. While we were at the Des Moines AQS show, hubby found a fabric painting stencil he liked, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was fun!! It has to sit and dry for several days before I heat set it, but so far I'm happy with it.

Now I'm kicking myself for not picking up paint sticks when Hancock Fabrics here had them on clearance

The diagonal lines are marking lines I put on with Pounce; they'll iron off when I heat set the snowflakes.

it looks great.

i love painting & dyeing fabric too.

dharma trading is a great site for these products.

also when joann's has 40 or 50% off coupons it pays to get paint stiks, dye na flow, and tsukineko inks from them.

They say good things come to those that wait... well you found the PERFECT stencil! I can't wait to see it when it's dry and finished.

Those snowflakes MAKE the quilt---how fun! What kind of paint did you use?
