I have been to this fabric store twice, and I just love it. It is called M&L Fabrics in Buena Park, CA (right next to Knott's Berry Farm). It is the largest fabric store I have ever seen. They have thousands of bolts of fabric plus row upon row of shelves stuffed with folded fabric. The folded fabric is about $1.98 to $2.98 a yard. Their flannel is $2.79/yard. They also had brand name fabric for $7.00/yd and up. I went absolutely nuts. I planned ahead of time so I had patterns and fabric pieces to match up. It is over 200 miles for me to drive, but I plan to do it at least once a year. The fabric is all good quality cotton (michael miller, etc.).

Here is a list of what I bought (pictures to follow):

16.25 yards of flannel at $2.79/yd
30 yards of folded fabric at $1.98/yd
10 yards of bolt fabric at $2.98/yd
1 yd bolt fabric at $2.89/yd
4 yd at $2.49/yd

Wow, those are incredible prices. I wonder if they do on-line business.

I have been there a couple of times. It is a dangerous place!!! I steer clear of the piles of fabric on the left side and the very back, you can't find anything there. They have piles of flat folds 3-4 feet high. Even if you did see something you liked, you could never get to it!!!

This is good to know as my daughter lives close to KBF. I was wondering what fabric stores might be in the area. Thanks for the tip. Now I'll have a quilting fix next time I visit.

Oh yes! M&L is in a building that used to be a supermarket & they use the whole thing!!!
The first time I went there, it was only a few weeks after I'd had my hysterectomy...good thing my Dr didn't know! lol
If you're not looking for something specific, it's kinda fun to go thru' the shelves (& shelves & shelves) full of flat folds. It is hard if you spy one you want to look at that's on the bottom of the stack tho'.

The store is close to the corner of Beach Blvd & Ball Rd.

My daughter used to live right on Ball Rd. I was so close and didn't even know it. Unfortunately, they've moved so now it might be a little more difficult to "accidentally" find this store. DD isn't a quilter but she humors my obsession.

:D Gee I have been wanting to go into the fashion district of L.A. for some time now. It is the largest in the united states. Here is the link to it. Not far from where you were and tons of stores with inexpensive fabrics. They have a little place to eat in the middle of all that too. Near the fresh flower area.
